Xuemei Lu
Xuemei Lu has been exploring ceramics since 2020. To deepen her understanding of ceramic art, she enrolled in the Fine Arts program at the University of Waterloo in 2022. Her work reflects a curiosity for diverse techniques and materials, bringing fresh perspectives and inspiration to her creations. Xuemei's pieces focus on emotions, tactile sensory experiences, and the beauty of nature. A defining feature of her art is her manipulation of textures, which serve as storytellers in her work. She continuously experiments with materials and tools to push the boundaries of ceramic art, often incorporating performance elements to challenge conventional presentations of ceramic sculptures.
