Renée Laprise
I was born and raised in Southern Ontario, earned my BFA from the University of Toronto, and now live and create on the east coast, in beautiful Prince Edward Island. After years of searching and evolving, I’ve found a painting style that feels like my voice. And now I get to tell my stories! I paint visions that bridge the seen and unseen. Rooted in mysticism, nature, and the sacred feminine, my art invites viewers into quiet, intimate spaces of reflection and remembrance. I draw from devotional practices, dreams, and encounters with spirit, painting each piece as a kind of portal—an offering that calls the viewer back to their soul. My paintings are layered with symbolism, texture, and archetypal figures that often feel ancient or otherworldly. Guardians and guides emerge in the work, echoing something deep in the collective memory. Every brushstroke is a prayer, a conversation with the unknown. I hope the viewer feels invited to pause, to contemplate, and to listen to what each piece has to say.
