George Hall
George Hall is a Canadian stone sculptor. His studio is located just outside of Toronto in Baltimore, Ontario.
After working with stone for nearly a decade, George began sculpting in 2023. His immediate love of stone carving led him to quickly assemble a mobile studio. Working out the back of his car, George taught himself how to turn boulders into beautiful sculptures. Now, George enjoys the luxuries of a permanent studio including shelter from the rain!
With every sculpture, George's aim is to provide a glimpse into his mind and imagination. Each of George’s sculptures begin as a vision. After he has a clear vision, he uses a variety of power tools and hand tools to, to paraphrase Michelangelo, remove the superfluous material.
So far in 2024, George has had his pieces in exhibitions including: the Art Gallery of Peterborough’s Juried Seams and Strata Exhibition; the Art Gallery of Northumberland’s 45th Juried Exhibition; and, the Society of Canadian Artists’ 2024 Open International Online Juried Exhibition
