Brigitta Kocsis
Brigitta Kocsis explores the space between representation and abstraction, creating hybrid, glitched figures that investigate embodiment in technologically mediated environments. She earned her BFA from Emily Carr University in 2005 and is currently completing her MFA.
Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions locally and internationally, including presentations in Geneva, Venice, and New York, as well as in galleries in Montreal, Vancouver, Helsinki, Szeged, Toronto, and Calgary.
She has received grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Quebec Arts Council, and the British Columbia Arts Council, and was awarded the Helen Frankenthaler Fellowship at the Vermont Studio Center.
